Fall is here...

We awoke this morning to cool, crisp air blowing through our open bedroom window. Heath was so excited...he has been waiting for this since last winter. I am getting more excited about this change in weather. We pulled the fall decorations out of the basement last night...amazing how decorations can help you get excited about the season. Before I show you some of our decorations, I need to show you Grammy's.

We went over to her house last night for dinner before heading to a craft fair in Traveler's Rest. (Heath is the best to go along with these ideas I come up with!) We brought Chick-Fil-A, of course. Grammy loves the nuggets and fries, and as you know, I do too. Layla came with us since we were taking her with us to the fair. She loves Grammy's house for a couple reasons I think...
  • It's big, so she has plenty of room to roam.
  • She loves Grammy and Mary.
  • She loves that Grammy and Mary feed her..last night she enjoyed nuggets.
  • And this crazy dog, who is afraid of her own shadow, actually enjoys all of Grammy's decorations.
So back to the decorations...this is hanging above you as you walk in the front door...

This is the view looking forward as you walk in the front door...I love the way the old grandfather clock is incorporated...

The mirror in the front hall...

The spiral staircase in the front hallway...

Here is the corner of the living room...one of these looming spiders fell on Grammy as she was walking by it the other day...that would sure startle me - they are about 4 feet across...

Here is the coffee table in the living room...

Mary does such a good job decorating the place!

Our decorations are a little more subtle. I prefer as many natural decorations as I can find with a couple bright accessories thrown in. Lucky for us the local Farmer's Market is on Saturday mornings.

Welcome to our house ready for fall...

Here is the mantle...three cute orange and white pumpkins are from the Farmer's Market. Candy corn garland is courtesy of an idea I saw on another blog...super easy to make.

Sunflowers from the market...Heath is concerned - the last time I was close to sunflowers I had an allergic reaction and lost my voice...I just couldn't resist them though!

And zinnias, oh how I love zinnias! I have had no luck growing them myself, but lucky for me I found them at the market too!

Orange straw pumpkin displayed on the antique crate...

This pumpkin is on our coffee table...Heath likes to point out that it is not orange...I like it's uniqueness...also from the market

And this spider was found last year on clearance...I had forgotten all about it and was so excited when I found it in our fall box.

I'll be excited about Fall soon...
